Bikram yoga teaches students a lot about themselves mentally in the midst of working the body physically. One of the primary tenets of Bikram yoga is discipline. Teachers work to maintain a strong practice environment, and students are expected to contribute to that by adhering to the following guidelines:
-
Always try your best to finish the class.
-
Practice stillness between postures.
-
Honor the silent practice by moving quietly during the poses, as well as in between poses.
-
Focus on only yourself in the front mirror.
-
Wash off any strongly scented perfumes or lotions prior to class.
-
All classes are in a heated room. Wear the minimum amount of clothing you feel comfortable with.
-
Come well-hydrated and with an empty stomach. We recommend not eating heavy meals 2-3 hours before class. Continue to hydrate after class.
-
Do not bring personal items into the practice room, other than a yoga mat, towel and water bottle. Lockers are available in the changing rooms. Mats and towels are available for rent for $2 each.
-
Be on time. It is important for you practice and the entire class. First timers please arrive at least 20 minutes early.
-
Enjoy Your Practice !
