In 2003, a friend and I went to the Bikram Yoga studio in Mount Vernon. That was the first time I took a Bikram class, and had previously never heard of it. I didn’t even know that Bikram was a person. To be honest, it was a love/hate relationship. In class I would lay in Savasana and think, what am I doing here? I would jump around on one foot trying to balance in Standing Bow Pose, getting a workout just trying to grab my foot. But I knew deep down that it was something I needed to do. That doing this one thing may the only thing I was doing right in my life at the time. I was a regular student in Mount Vernon for a couple years, then I stopped going because it was so far away. I was so thankful that the Everett studio opened a year ago!
After I finished my first Bikram Yoga class, I said it was the hardest thing I’d ever done. I also said I wanted to be a teacher. I just knew. I kept practicing, and even more I became convinced that doing this yoga meant having a healthy and happy life, in every aspect. What else could I do but become a teacher? It took awhile, but I believe things happen at the right time. And here I am. It is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.
I finished Las Vegas, 2009 I also like to travel, so I really enjoy studying the different places I want to visit. I like to cook, go grocery shopping at the co-op for different kinds of tea. I love vegetable gardening in the summer, and camping. I love to be able to relax and get a massage, or lay out in the sunshine by a swimming pool.
